Nah, mining is of no consequence.
I firmly believe that we can only make very small overall adjustments to reduce environmental impact. If the consequences of every move are analysed from beginning to end we will end up back where we started. That analysis is clearly never carried through because there are too many financial fingers in the pie. In the short term we can only fine tune the technology that we have and in the long term we need population reduction and lifestyle change. But people on this forum will tell you that the mining for lithium is of no consequence.
Try googling British Lithium. They are proposing opening mines in Devon/Cornwall with estimated capacity to produce sufficient for 350,000 EVs per year. No brine evaporation involved here.So as long as any environmental pollution is in a country other than the UK it’s OK.?
I have no doubt that a way could and will be found for disposal but at what financial and environmental cost? Did anybody think this through? Perhaps but the environmentalists were pushing hard and the manufacturers were happy to take the money. Windmills next. The Mounting Solar Panel Waste Problem

There seems to be a problem with disposal of solar panels. Did nobody take this into account before they started bolting them to roofs? If not why not?You like to criticise.
What do you support ?
Carry on as we are?

I agree, but what i am pointing out is the green credentials being shoved down our throats and costing us a fortune, are no betterThere is a problem with burning billions of tonnes of crude oil. You can ask the same questions
Taking all aspects of energy production into account do you really know which method presents the lesser evil because this is what we are seeking? Using the sun’s energy by harnessing it through solar panels is in effect what plants do to produce hydrocarbons. These in turn we burn to produce energy. By short circuiting the natural system are we replacing one evil with another perhaps. It is right to seek ways to improve the methods in which we treat our planet but it is wrong to accept all of the green promotions at face value. There is a problem with burning billions of tonnes of crude oil.
