Grey engineoil on MF135

Hello, and pardon my bad english (Norwegian guy here).
I have a MF135 (1970), which I changed engine oil 2months ago and it havent been used much since then. Today I checked the oil level, and I noticed that the oil on the dipstick was all grey.
It hasnt used any cooling fluid, so my question is, what is going on? Is there anything else beside water that could turn the oil grey?

Sidenote, the last couple of weeks its become hard to start also. Could it be related? Grey and white smoke coming out the exhaust pipes, and spitting black dots of fluid.

(the plastic is there to cover for all the black and greasy fluid coming out when cold starting it) :)

Thanks for your reply Exfarmer. But if its water/cooling fluid leeking in, shouldnt it be noticed on the level at the radiatortop?

If the tractor is kept outside and the exhaust is not covered,heavy rain down the exhaust will make it's way to the sump. That would also tie in with the black dots of fluid coming out. (Carbon,oil and water)

The exhaustpipe got a nice hat/cover, so it shouldn't be coming in that way

Grey oil and white smoke/ black wet spots out of exhaust, as above water of some sort on top of piston, also giving hard starting, if the engine doesn't want to turn over, hard cranking, then probably head gasket.

In March this year ours got hard started with loads of smoke and black fluid streamed down side of exhaust. Head gasket was gone and 2 piston rings had split pulling the liners into the crank casing. Valve seats were shot also thus allowing 1 piston top well marked by valve.

Sorry, I forgot to update this thread. I disassembled the top, and found out that the headgasget had a small area which was damaged. After replacing it, and allso replaced two of the nozzle tip's (that after testing was found to be almost blocked), the enginge now starts immediately and runs smoothly again.
