Greyface Dartmoors

Hi guys,

Looking at buying sheep to cross for meat, and some pedigree for showing through work, I've heard Greyface Dartmoors and they seem to fit the bill but there isn't a great deal of info online about them apart from they're a meat/wool breed and they're pretty docile?
I did read on a forum someone calling them useless though, don't understand why.

Any keepers of greyface that can shed some light?

Thanks

Not good for meat outside of the imaginery world of the GFD website. Lots of showing classes around and very docile. You will likely have to move to Devon and kiss arse for several years before you start winning ribbons

I used to have a few- not the worst sheep I’ve ever kept but nowhere near the best either. I just couldn’t really see the appeal.
Like many breeds they’re fine in their niche. You want a docile sheep to take to a few shows then have a go.
