Situation Vacant Griffith Elder - Full Time Service Support Engineer

Griffith Elder are a manufacturer of electronic weighing equipment and weighbridges, with customers in the agricultural, recycling and waste industries. Based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, we are looking for a person who will be responsible for the running of our product service and installation functions for our range of products. We need someone who has practical abilities for liaising with customers solving their problems on the telephone and arranging visits to undertake installation of new equipment and servicing/repairs of existing equipment. We offer product training and an attractive salary dependent on ability and experience, together with the use of a vehicle.

Applicants should be customer focused with a working knowledge of agriculture. Some experience with electronics and fault finding would be beneficial.

The job will entail service, installations and the ability to take phone calls from customers that have problems they wish to discuss. 60 to 70 percent of the time will be spent in the office talking to customers, logging details and organising visits and spare parts for customers. 30 to 40 percent of the time will be out visiting customer premises. This may vary depending on time of year and number of visits required. It is expected that when visiting, the candidate may need to stay away from the office for up to three days at a time. The candidate should be able to take phone calls on the move, to take coherent notes, log all calls and communicate well with the rest of the Griffith Elder team.
