Ground water levels, new springs popping up!?

I'm assuming the record amounts of winter rain take time to filter through the soil and rock to add to the aquifers and groundwater levels. Last week noticed a couple of new springs pop up where to our knowledge there has never been before, are others seeing similar?

It seems strange how its finally dried out on top a bit, as water has stopped falling from the sky and is now coming up out the ground! You cannot win!!

We have this problem. The main springs are drained but the wetter it gets the more appear until they're everywhere and they don't stop until weeks after it's finished raining. On clay water from springs won't find the field drains, it bubbles up and runs over the surface. Hard to know what can be done other than keeping it in grass which stabilises the soil and stops it becoming a muddy hole over winter.
We also have some free draining land, it doesn't matter how much rain there is it never gets saturated or has water sat on top. You can drive over it in any weather and barely leave a mark, quite a contrast
