That web based program sounds interesting @Sorenllsoe

Is it in also English and freely available? Some of the recommendation and checking software here has a simple 'problem control' function that just relates to label data but as far as I am aware we have access to nothing as detailed and flexible as you describe.

Sorry York, you can not catch me in this endless discussion as long as it is concerning people who have seen or observed something terrible about glyphosate.
Here in Denmark we farmers have for centuries been used to have reliable and INDEPENDANT trials and reserch behnd everything we do n the fields.
That means we dont rely on advices from the companies, we have our own farmer owned research organsation with thousands of trials every year (www.seges.dk).
We listen to chemical companies, but we only act from these independant trials and research results.
Roeren,
I'm not starting an never ending discussion.
DK: you where not referring to specific DK situation. I'm aware of this "independent" groups and have given one of the key people some insight into some specific problems which are increasing challenges of DK rape growing. His comment was: we only do trials with recommended products. No interest in starting some trials on the topic of "Nutrition".
the other sounds very interesting & I think it's the way forward to get to a better usage of chemicals. We still have tooo much usage, like spraying at mid day, high temperature. where you wander how much of the spray is rely hitting the target....
Look, in Germany it's absolutely against the law to use other concentrations than on the label. We have already mobile troops which take samples out of the sprayer and check if the combinations are allowed, concentration is correct & matching what it is supposed to be sprayed.
By the way, Don Huber is talking on the topic of nutrition.
Soeren I stop now as I'm not interested in a never ending discussion where the goal is to be right. I'm not on TFF to mission or to win a battle. Have fun & future will say who was on the more sound track.

maybe, if the organisers are bold enough, they should invite Prof. Don Huber next year for Groundswell? For the animal side it
s Prof.. Dr. Monika Krueger of the Vet. Uni. Leipzig which does work on botulism & Glyphosate on animals. She has some very nice pictures of the gut system.
Don Huber is very knowledgeable on the topic of Pesticides & effects on plants.
last week I was in Estonia. Never have seen so many negative effects of chemical usage. Need only compare the plants in the fields, like near power posts, which didn't get a dosage & the rest of the field. It pays to do "zero plots" controls.
Maybe this people are also a good invite for BASE annual meeting.
Did organise a day seminar with both of them years ago. It changed the usage of pesticides in all operations which attended. Since then I'm not liked by german Min Till association any more. Tehy will even not shake hands with me at their annual meeting.
York-Th.
p.s. sorry, off topic
Is Estonia using excessive amounts of Glypho? I am probably a low user but as Ryegrass problems get worse I can only see me using it more, which I am not particularly keen on. So looking at expanding rotation to avoid this.

Smoking doesn't cause cancer...

@SilliamWhale Will, you accuse Graeme Sait of benefiting financially from his claims. Fair enough, but if you follow the money in the debate, I think you'll find Monsanto and many other vested interests (including every farmer in the world running a no-till / min-till system) will be pumping all their propaganda and scientific research in the opposite direction. Same as happened in the tobacco industry not too long ago. Talk about vested interests!

In this post-truth / post-facts age, where you don't appear to even be able to trust the scientific community to tell us how it is, who can we really trust?

For myself, I wouldn't trust a multinational chemical juggernaut to do anything other than pursue profit at any cost.

You don't have to look far to discover the truth. Epidemiology would have picked up any groups of cancer amongst those most exposed to it. Not one study that has any gravitas had found so yet despite thirty years of looking. Computer modelling is so sophisticated now that any bulges or nodes amongst the population would have been exposed. If it had dont you think that this would be the smoking gun seized upon by the greens not the really pee poor IARC which is dead in the water. I originally trained as a scientist and learned to use an open mind and logically look at the whole picture and not to blindly follow any individual theories until thoroughly peer reviewed and tested. The whole thing of glyphosate as a carcinogen is totally unproven and likely to remain so and with the only alternative to it being diesel which is an undisputed carcinogen then the greens ought to think of the whole picture and not just navel gaze as they do now.

It is in English but it has a price for using it. I can't remember, but send a mail to [email protected] and ask for more info.

Do you have any pictures from the Cross Slot trial plots? Interested to see how the cover crops are post crimper & would be good to compare against the others which didn't have a crimper pass.
Quite interesting. First picture LHS undisturbed cover, RHS Weaving drilled. 2nd pic Cross slot with crimper. 3rd JD 750a with guttler press on front.

To be fair, covers not developed enough for crimper to work effectively. Guttler worked better than crimper which cut through oats etc rather than bruising.

Thanks for the reply. That's an interesting set of results and a little unexpected as the crimper seems to be the international norm. That's getting the modding thought cells going.

In truth it's very variable, nowhere is there a complete cover kill and over most of the drill plots it's just a mess. Interestingly there isn't much blackgrass under any of the covers compared to what it was like last year. I'm beginning to think it might be worth looking into covers a bit more carefully...

Nice aerial shot. I imagine someone tied their box-brownie to a balloon. Whatever, it came out all right.
IT team are working at getting audios uploaded, surprisingly slow job; fitting it in between festivals etc. Turns out we can't use Graeme Sait's tape as he might have said something which he later regrets and he doesn't fancy being sued, understandably enough

Let him edit it. He was passionate and controversial so allow him to bleep out what he feels is litigous. If I had known that I would have recorded him myself rather than just taking notes.

Would it be ok to post my notes for what they are worth. From more than one source so unattributable.
