Where's the dog guard? Somewhere it can be collected at any time or shop hours?
We're coming up night before from Devon but I'm not the pilot so can't promise anything .

Got air b 'n' b booked so will be up for full 2 days(y)

I've just moved away from Bristol, but will likely be back here before groundswell. Happy to make the detour if req'd. PM me if you don't get a better offer. :)
It's at 17 st johns road burnham on sea ta8 2ax

Contact is 07902944084 and He's happy to leave it out for collection after hours (it was only £35 so no big risk - A new one is £140).

Having reviewed current and future commitments in detail, the earliest I can make it there is.... the night before Groundswell.
PM me early that week if you need me to plan it in. :)

Well, it's a bit awkward, but when we realised Gove was a coke-fiend, we had to withdraw his invitation to Groundswell. They've promised to send someone called Goodwill along as a replacement. He sounds quite promising.

Meanwhile tickets are selling fast. It looks like we might sell out this year, we've got a capacity which we don't want to go beyond. We don't want people to get grumpy because they can't get in to see any of the speakers, so it's first come first served and the devil take the hindmost. Or something. It is shaping up to be a cracking show, you'll kick yourself if you can't get a ticket

That's an interesting decision (politically - I'm not commenting on the rights or wrongs around the issue).

Presuming other bodies have similar questions about being associated with Gove it would seem his confession may have further repercussions than many commentators are implying.

Sorry to go OT into politics.

Looking forward to my first Groundswell however. Just hope we get some decent weather before then to get some silage done first...

You’ll never be able to invite any politician if you’re banning Gove because he admitted he snorted a couple of lines of charlie!

TBH, he pulled out because his mind was wandering onto other projects. I just thought it was funnier to pretend we'd taken the moral high ground. However, although I really don't like how boring people become when they do cocaine, I do think the war on drugs is about the stupidest policy politicians of all colours pursue. End of

So you’re lacking a controversial speaker to wind the punters up?

Do you need someone to come and do 15 minutes on the blandness of a no-till diet, and the necessity of root crops?

Milkshakes optional, outraged mankini wearers guaranteed?

(I say that as someone who’s loved both Groundswells I’ve been to!)

Crikey I've led a sheltered life. I've never experienced how people become when they "do" cocaine...:bag::ROFLMAO:

TBH I always assumed that it was a prerequisite for any diehard Notill/Conservation Ag/Holistic practitioner to be under the influence of some mind bending substance or other, at least some of the time.:cool:

Genuinely disappointed though, as I was looking forward to hearing Marmite Gove. I suppose he has bigger fish to fry at present and to be fair to him, he has already almost singlehandedly saved our planet with his far reaching, hard hitting environment policy. He probably thinks his work is done. :)

Just in the process of deciding what/who to see at groundswell.
A lot of my 2 days is all based around soil health/management at the moment and the mob grazing demo.
I feel I may have to miss out on some of the big speakers there but hopefully they will be on the net to watch at a later date if there available.
What are others grouping together to see out off interest.
@martian will there be time to get from from 1 venue to another when they both start and finish at say 10am out of interest.
Cheers karl

its a shame really, we need the politicians to see that farming isn't all bad from an environmental point of view given some of the rubbish that's banded about at the moment, they need to see and then perhaps they would get behind/promote more environmental ways of farming, its no good us just talking to each other about it and the gov just decides to import food and export the perceived problem based on a bunch of half truths cos farming in this country will be fecked anyway

they are all within a minute or two of each other, so it shouldn't be too much of a rush. Most of the time there's an hours gap between speakers to give everyone time to chat and grab a coffee, look at drills or whatever. We will be filming everything in the conference barn and seminar barn and putting it on youtube later (unless it's rubbish or actionable), so if you can't get into Allan Savory's talk for instance, you can catch it when you get home (realistically, it'll be a month later by the time it's all sorted).

Good luck trying to weave a path through it all! Personally, I want to see all of them...

Im sure its easier said than done but you should ask Prince Charles to come one year.

He and Camilla came to our village last year. He cares about farming and the environment - would be a good keynote speaker or just as a visitor.

Its a shame Mr Gove isnt coming because although hes not everyones cup of tea I think hes a good politician and he "gets" farming/ environment more than a lot.

Haven’t decided yet what to see but it’s going to be a very busy day. I’m booked for the Thursday and the Wednesday night.

Canadian couple will be visiting UK June 17 to July 2 for Groundswell and touring the countryside around the conference dates. We would enjoy the opportunity to visit direct drillers particularly those into regenerative ag and getting off the chemical addiction. Also want to learn more about Weaving, Sky and Sly drills, and the experiences of others with intensive grazing of beef cows. If you are open to a visit give us a heads up, no where too far as we're used to traveling around Canada and US. We came across the pond last year for Groundswell and had such a good time we decided to come back.
