GROWING EXOTIC FRUIT & VEG IN UK AFTER BREXIT!

With Brexit fast approaching and facing the strong likely hood of leaving the EU with NO DEAL.

With the vast majority of imported fruit and veg either coming from or through the EU, we are now facing price increases on this fruit & veg especially exotic varieties.

This is where UK Tropical Fruits plan to seize this opportunity and make the most of it!

After having researched assorted fruit & veg and looking at climatic conditions within the UK we have established that not only is it possible, but it is certain that we can grow a large portion of this produce here with the aid of heated commercial glasshouses in addition to other more commonly grown fruits.

Initially we plan in the first year to be growing Passion Fruit, Dragon Fruit, Giant Strawberries and an assortment of other specialist vegetables.

In years 2 & 3 we will also be harvesting Tamarillos and Pineapple Guava.

UK Tropical Fruits farm is proposed to be in Sussex so only a short drive to London for daily deliveries to high-end retailers and restaurants.

We already have clients in London waiting to be supplied so for a limited time are now calling for wise investors who want to get onboard in this niche market with us at start-up stage!

In exchange we are offering 1 share (1%) for every £10,000 invested.

In dragons den style ...................

so you value your company at 1 million, what's your sales / profit to date and what value of assets does the company your asking for investment in hold ?

Do you have committed orders from any major retailers ? if so what volume ? and what is unique about your business that stops me juts building my own glass house and growing exotic fruit in the UK ?

looking at your crowd funding page it give the impression your not actually trading yet ?

..............I'm out ;)

now that Ivanka & Pavel have been driven back into the sea, are you going to have enough workers to pick your crops?

Is this really true - don't passion fruits for example come by air freight from Kenya? Kenya is not technically part of the EU.

There is no need to really entirely on home grown fruit, after all frozen and canned products can be imported from any part of the world (with considerably reduced environmental damage compared to air transport)

Not quite as daft as it seems as I have 2 acres of dutch glasshouses going through planning at the moment but that is as direct competition with the Dutch using the same geothermal source as the Dutch use. Your million pound will not go far it would not even pay for the geothermal infrastructure.

Always good when a company website looks like it has been put together for a pittance and has typographical errors on the front page. The plan is to lease 2.7acres under glass, plus a year of running costs for £100k, if you read the pitch. And from looking at Companies House, the outfit is both very green and run by a bus driver/ company director with two failed enterprises in 2017. I'm steering well clear.

The only thing I can't understand is having £1000 of share capital at the start - Tony could have managed with £100, I'm sure, and saved himself £900 when the inevitable happens.

Plodding up and down with the sprayer today it was 18 degrees. Perhaps Tony has missed a trick and passion fruit will grow here without a glass house. That could put the profits up substantially,:)

Obviously if it works I will present @UK Tropical Fruits a very large invoice for agronomic advice :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Exotic fruit does not, so far as I am aware, come from the EU - most of it is imported from outside the EU, and it will continue in that manner. The fact that it may transit through Rotterdam or Bremerhaven is neither here nor there as long as the seals on the container are unbroken.

At least he's consistent - all dissolved companies, before they had time to file accounts:

WEYMOUTH INDOOR MARKET LTD (10675553)
ORGANIC MARKET LIMITED (10687233)
https://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/news/1...rs-as-weymouth-indoor-market-fails-to-launch/

And then going back in time:
WEYMOUTH TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE LIMITED (09508095) dissolved
T & L PEERS ENTERPRISES LIMITED (09142527) dissolved
PEERS ESTATE AGENTS LIMITED (08895860) dissolved
RIGHTRAKER LIMITED (08478829) dissolved
RIGHTRAK LIMITED (07401051) dissolved

Plus more from the other half of T & L Peers Enterprises - Luanne, presumably Mrs, Peers:
VINTAGE TRENDS LTD (10663110) (curiously still active, albeit not actively trading)
VINTAGE THEATRE LTD (10930845) (not yet dissolved)
ARTBOOKCAFE LIMITED (10062385) (dissolved)
WEYSIDE GUEST HOUSE LIMITED (10062391) (dissolved)
THE STAGE DOOR LTD (09311504) (dissolved)
LUANNE'S INTERIORS LIMITED (08645603) (dissolved)
LA FIESTA CLUB LTD (09321092) (dissolved)

With that kind of history, readily accessible, nobody would be tempted, surely?
