In these challenging times rightly or wrongly we decided to invest in our infrastructure, only time will tell whether this was the right decision but for the short term it does feel like the right thing to do.

We Run a family Farm Stay which forms a big part of our income, post lockdown business really picked up with us having the busiest August and September to date.

During lockdown we built a commercial Pizza oven which is hired seperately to our accommodation and is proving really popular as a safer alternative to dining out. We also got our planning through for a large barn during lockdown, which was the best time to get planning as no one could visit us on site. if you would like to know more about our journey you can follow our Blog through the following link: Oaks Barn Farm Blog

How did you all spend your lockdown time?

we were dead for the first few weeks so we concentrated on getting our glamping site infrastructure in, sewage, electric, water and patios all laid for our two shepherds huts which opened in July. have definitely hit the ground running! our fireball business has boomed due to Covid, our best year for 5 years, we are taking more staff on at the moment, as well as a part time person for the cleaning in huts.

Hi there,

We run a new platform called Garday (www.garday.org). It is a website platform that allows people to hire out the use of their land or outdoor space for different purposes (such as events, photoshoots, weddings, BBQs, etc.). We started the platform this Summer and have had a great response so far, it seems like the trend is going to be outdoor events as time goes forward. If you are interested feel free to list your land (it costs nothing to list). If you are interested please check out our site or drop us an email at [email protected].
