Well I got my G59 relay successfully replaced yesterday after it failing the first witness test.

Basically Mainspro had to get Omicron to send over a new file to use when testing it as it was otherwise too sensitive apparently. Had to buy a second relay and send the first one back to be checked to see if it was faulty, haven't got my refund yet though.

Just need to submit all the paperwork to claim the grant now.

Been a pain, but got there in the end.

Apparently you can now buy a relay from Mainspro that is all witness tested prior to coming on site for £800, which would be cheaper that buying normal relay for £400 then employing firm for over £1000 to bench test it on site. As it they spent 4 hours bench testing and about 30 minutes to actually install on the turbine

Hi Dave, if Mainspro are now offering a 'bench tested' relays just be a bit careful with this, as you still need to complete the dynamic testing on site (i.e. prove it works when fitted in your installation) after you've fitted it which forms part of the G59 commissioning checklist you need to submit as evidence. The DNO might be accepting this, but just be careful with it!

This is just what my contractor said ComAp had told him, so only heard it 3rd hand and haven't checked it out myself.
