Yes its the handling system we're looking at. We've looked at Prattley/Rappa etc but they're so expensive. Could you pm with the details of the one you're selling please!

Sheep handling system? Yes. Been pleased with it although we have since bought a prattley which is better/easier. GSF with eaziweigh weighing was a good affordable entry unit that has done us well - for sale if you are interested.

How many sheep does the gsf system hold?

Hi, yes we had one on the productivity grant, Good all round system, pretty simple tbh not much to go wrong. If its fully loaded up with hurdles etc its pretty heavy and some may struggle to hitch it up on own.

yes I would need the 250. Could not see it clearly on their website.

thanks

They told me that the website isn't up to date at the moment, they're trying to get a new one/control of this one or something!?

The lady on the phone is really helpful though and will give you all the details of price/whats included etc. Tell her the girl that asks all the questions told you to ring :ROFLMAO:

I tend to use a small tractor and A frame drawbar with Ball hitch, or a PUH. You might be looking at a jack to allow easier hitching to a pickup.

I added lights, mudguards etc and a forcing gate to my grant application, and wished I had put in a spring loaded, non-reverse bar too!

How does the load bars/weigh head integrate with the race? Is it a crate add on?

Cant find pictures of it any where at moment.

Three way drafting is by a extra side door. Looked at one when they were made in Somerset a few years ago. Was well made. Thought the lift mechanism is the wrong end which would solve hitching problem. Hurdles were good and only £30 then.
Bought a second hand Prattley.

Good idea, we run about runs a little bit so its on the truck a fair bit, goes well on the road too. Luckily my father is carrying a few too many kgs so he comes in handy as a counterweight to hitch it up 😂😂

Well, it's all relative :)

I would say compared to anything made by IAE, the GSF kit is cheap, as it will last longer, and at the end of the life will be worth more as scrap! The GSF hurdles are sooo heavy.
I thought you might say that, yes tis relative I agree.
I just think this ....
all the excitement over Grants can be a distraction I reckon . Less money can be spent for something more suitable imo.

Preconceived or ' manufactured' ideas on ' mobile' stock handling kit are to be pushed aside, the only way is to know your own needs and how your own stock behaves.

Just lots of money's worth chucked at... doesn't necessarily make the job easier.

and I mean no disrespect to the build quality of these or any other 'systems'

Scotpen hurdles bought seperate were good value was a yr or 2 ago now mind you, grant job has skewed prices and production as well dont forget.

It's the trailler bit that adds some of the out of proportion cost / or 'adds value' if you're looking at it from the manufacturers point of view.

Short races are a pita , ime.unless all your doing is drafting.
