GSHP + underfloor heating and cooling ??

I’ve got room on manifold for another set aswell. Maybe we need a GSHP thread on here, save taking other threads off topic!!

So here goes .
At very early stages of detailed drawing for a new bungalow with Under floor heating and GSHP. Initial calculations suggest overheating will be a major issue.
How easy is it to run the UFH in reverse to provide cooling ?
Do many people with new builds suffer from overheating in summer and what do they do about it.

Not sure how underfloor cooling would work, cool air sinks so the floor would get very cold and you would get condensation. Not nice to have a permanent wet floor

We have a small 1300 sq ft below and 900 sq ft above dwelling with underfloor downstairs. We run our underfloor off oil for about 4-5 months of the year then switch it off . We run very little oil over the year .because our house is so small it’s stays at one temp throughout despite different zones . How this differs to ground pump I’m not sure . Can you switch it on and off when applicable?

You can do it, but it's not common. It works in combination WITH air coil air conditioning to keep the humidity down and air movement up. On it's own, it could make a mess.

Another strategy is to run the domestic water supply to the water heater through the floor for a small amount of cooling and preheating of the water. Or run the ground loop water, or well water through the floor before the heat pump adds more heat while cooling the air.
