Right then folks, in a light hearted manner, with the advent of Aberblacks and Aberfield SR, can we, with our combined experience come up with the next new cross to be marketed, before they do, has to have at least one existing Inovis 'breed' in it to qualify, I'm going for the Aberdorp shedding(sometimes) suitable for low rainfall counties.

I see that the Aberfield SR has some Lleyn in them, is this to increase the lambing percentages as I've heard that a few have been disappointed with the results from the Aberfields? Does "SR" stand for anything?

Self-replacing. "The Aberfield SR, incorporating Lleyn genetics, is a new composite currently being developed to meet the needs of self-replacing flocks".

Why does the cynic in me think you work for innovis and are fishing the wealth of knowledge on here for a new breed and brand... :sneaky:

I suggest the Aberspade. It's just a BFL, but it can dig its own fecking hole :cautious:

Why not concentrate on doing a couple well ?? Than keep reinventing the wheel , have lambed aberdales and aberfeilds , dales were sold a disaster poor mothers , fields ok but a lot of mastitis in one tips daughters but the guy was into deep now back to breeding mules

At the start they seemed to have something decent going on - small number of relatively unique hybrids, with lots of recording.

Now it just seems, find someone else with good sheep, thats using their tups, take the x bred lambs and give them a new name!

Same crap as all the cockerpoo / bullpoo / shitpoo things

They're not alone in that. But if people keep buying them, and paying a premium to do so, there must be a demand.......or some are easily led?:scratchhead:

Just like car companies have a line up of models and bring out new ones every few years? Creates a buzz, Keeps folks interested...;) Innovis are just out to line their own pockets. They'll flood the industry with fancy named recorded crosses until they find 'the one' we all want/need
