Or even take a phone pic of the manufacturere's plate so that I can scrutinise the numbers later .... ;) :D
Not such a daft idea .
Simply take picture of the ID plate on all your machines and keep it in your phone , if you need a part in a hurry you have all the info you need , and it does make the guy at the other end of the phones job easier.
Machine models and spec have such a range nowadays , guessing simply costs you time and money for 90% of the time you WILL get the wrong thing.
Another tip ,from experience, is open parts CAREFULLY that way , if they happen to be wrong, you can box up nice and neat and return Ain’t no parts man anywhere taking back a part that the box looks like it’s been through the machine .

This is where the long serving staff in the dealers can come into their own.
They know what models and spec the customer has, you would be amazed how many people can only tell you the brand, are not sure on the model and really have no idea on what spec it is.
Then come out with “they will all be the same” can’t blame anyone for wanting to double check as there are so many variations these days.

that was jcb dealer price - we didn’t replace them as not worn out just very noisy- its back together with “anti squark” additive in the oil to see if that helps

it was stripped as it sounded like the diff maybe about to explode, but all looked fine in there

When did you last change the oil in the axles? Dirty/worn out oil makes the brakes squeeky on a JCB.
Has it done many hours? Do operators know about the neutral function?
We don't do huge amounts of roadwork with our telehandlers, or much towing, but can get 10,000hrs out of a set of brakes without too much bother, just change the axle oil regularly.

4 pillar cab, door glass.

Case Maxxum / Puma - £180.

Massey 8660- £1,060!!!!
(Rear window £480!!!)

Basically the same thing.

Ps, we seem to break a lot of glass, now a question we ask when buying new machines
Try your local windscreen 'autoglass' type place. Ours is superb, quick, efficient, not too expensive and does a professional job

it's serviced as per JCB schedule to the letter and hour - it does no road work (we flat bed trailer it) and has never towed, Rarely leaves a concrete yard !

1600hrs old now I think

The brake discs on Dana axles are good for 10k hours. Normally your in there before they wear out to do piston seals.

Like I said before Dana axles are fussy on oil. Only 1 oil I will recommend in a Dana axle no matter what its fitted to and that manitou special wet brake, I've tried many different brands of oil in them of different specs and just as you think you nailed it you get one random axle cause a problem. Change the oil out for manitou and problem solved! Love to know exactly were they get it from but it does appear to be a special bend?

It'll likely contain a specific https://360.lubrizol.com/2020/The-Importance-of-Industrial-Gearbox-Lubrications additive .....blended with a regular stock oil...

Your putting additive in them🤷‍♂️
I've used jcb HP plus axle oil in Dana before it dont work! So if that's what your using it's no good!
Buy a can of manitou wet brake oil £75 and put that in it. Dana axles are a little fussy on oils for so reason!
@Clive this is sound advice... The Manitou wet brake oil works well or I have used JD Hygard with same effect. I've heard of this anti-squawk additive and have never needed to use it yet? Seems like a temporary solution. As @ACEngineering suggests, dana parts are cheaper to purchase through their agents rather than JCB. I've used both HES Tractec or ACEngineering for parts.
