I would like to know if the steering system on a Cr 9070 combine could be used to work a steering wheel based system on a tractor.
The combine uses a Trimble system through an intelliview 4 display. I know the brain and receiver can be taken out and used on a New Holland tractor that is steering ready. But could it be used on another make of tractor using a trimble steering wheel and display.
Thoughts and advice would be much appreciated, as it seems silly to be paying for the signal and only use it 4 weeks a year.

Actualy not. It has NAV controler with PLM software in it. You can use it only on New Holland. You don't need NH ready machine. You can buy Intellisteer light (electristeer) instead of using hidraulic guidance.

You may be able to use the GPS Receiver/antenna but it depends on the electric steering system and display you have on the tractor.

EZ-Steer - not possible
EZ-Pilot - not possible
AutoPilot Motor Drive - possible

You would not be able to use the NAV controller.
