Guns on farms

Only coastal Sea fish, no deer. Digging badgers or drugs would be best guess. They arrived mid afternoon going of the ANPR though then left 01.30... very suspicious anyway
If you live near the coast. Most of the drugs and illegal guns in the uk come ashore via small boats at night. Speak to your local border force.

I agree with you - but why? Hermes in particular are as cheap as chips. There is a Hermes 'depot' (actually a 2 parking bay, 1000 sq ft industrial unit) about 20mins from us. Frankly it's filthy. No room for vans to load, they load everywhere else on the estate, on the kerbs and in the road, annoying other users big time and spreading parcels out all over the roadway. We collect from there sometimes if spares have been sent and they've missed us. Apparently HSE and the local council have all been there but I guess they are looking the other way

How some of the cars that you see there are legal, I've no idea, they are stacked to the gunwales with zero visibility and some have kids on board too. Perhaps that's why its so cheap...... here's a photo I took a few months ago. There's plenty others like this o_O

After lockdown they were busier than Christmas. Our postie said the same thing about Royal Mail, busier than Christmas but with half the staff, many off sick or just staying at home.

Royal Mail and Parcelforce needs reforming into a fit for purpose delivery outfit. It's part of our 'crown jewels' but struggling big time with poor management, entrenched ideas and outdated systems

Now back to the firearms under the bed....
aye same with us, work from their house with a couple of cars packed full.

I’m sure my grandad said he had a couple of cartridges handy that had wheat in them, just in case, could that be right ?

Back in the 60's we used to have girl guides camping one week each year in one of our fields. Used to get trouble from young lads coming up from a local village. Father had the same, a handful of 12 bore cartridges loaded with wheat to deter them.
one of our part-timers admits to having taken up borrowing the odd pheasant from the local estate when he was a pup.
That was until Lord so and So (title withheld for legal reasons) caught him, hollered something about 'you thieving young bu**ers', and shot him in the backside with salt charged 12 bore.
My man happily admits that it hurt like hell, and cured him of the desire.
(bears no grudge at all...)

Simple, straight forward and had the desired effect. Lordy didn't get done for attempted murder, and the lad learned the error of his ways.

Today Lordy would be jailed, the lad would have been given a suspended sentence, a pile of compensation and put on some rehabilitation for 6 months.

Many years ago, our local policemen kicked me up the backside after getting caught riding my bike for the umpteenth time with no lights on. It also had the desired effect.

Have i a gun yes would i use it on an intruder ?? I really cant say it depends i suppose. Live in a big old farmhouse so probably sleep through any burglary and good luck to the burglar manhandling our ancient and heavy furniture down the front steps or out the back door .The yard and diesel tanks are another matter entirely and thats where i have had problems in the past . The diesel thefts came to a halt when i put salt in the road diesel tank and let them have about 200 litres of fuel...... Buy my white diesel now at the forecourt . A big handwritten " Dirty Tank Do Not Fill " sign now adorns the tractor tank and seems to be having the desired affect on the night visiting fuel fillers.
Some times i wish i lived in Texas and could put up a ARMED RESPONSE sign on the gate as the urban creeping thieving disease gets closer and closer .

I had a racist dog. Rhodesian Ridgeback, quite a placid dog but completely flipped out when it saw any black person. Not my doing and we had it from a pup
Was talking to a guy I know other day hes a ridgeback says wot cracking dog . Didn't say about blacks as not got many this way nothing against em though. i know some really good ones.

The officer should be sacked and prosecuted. He never told the dog to stop.
By the by, - if the dog wouldn't stop IF he had told him; he clearly can't train dogs and should be moved to regular duties, but this won't matter as he has already been sacked.

If that person that was incapacitated and incapable of harming anyone was someone you knew, you employed, were related to, was a child of yours - what would you say?

Like I say depends on circumstances on wot that person had done ? Or if he'd done nothing then it's out of order end of.

nope. The courts and judicial system had put any punishment after the case. Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The police should not have the power to inflict physical punishment to anyone. Once he was incapacitated (and he was at the start of the video), the dog was redundant and should have been removed.
