Gutless deutz engine

Got a little 3cyl air cooled deutz engine in a 3 ton benford dumper 2005ish.

It won't pull away in 2nd with a moderate load on. Won't even drive up a slope in 3rd empty.

it sound nice on tick over and full revs but seems to miss a bit as the revs pick up under no load but much worse under load.

I've done the simple stuff so far and can rule out any kind of fuel/air supply issues. I've slackened each injector off in turn and all give equally the same effect ie a 'normal' misfire.

Injectors tested and compression test are next on the list.

I'm probably way off but could it be something along the lines of timing/governor??

It's almost as if it's got turbo lag like the engine load is waiting for the revs to catch up is best way I can describe it

we have a MF148 tractor which had similar problem, was 'running' fine but wouldn't take off in top and ye could have stalled it starting up the pto with hoybob!, was prepared for rebuild but turned out the head gasket was gone and it was blowing between cylinders, mind you, it was also a pig to start!

Stop solenoid not opening fully? Or if a cable pull stop is it going fully in?

It hasn't by any chance got an excess fuel button on the injector pump like the old 10 series fords have? Ours used to stick occasionally on our 7610 that we used to have and gave similar symptoms.

Well you might have checked the fuel supply, but you are asking for a possible cause for your problem?
Deutz F3L 1011F listed has yours a turbo fitted? Gate valve possibly stuck, but you probably have that already checked?

I've a F3L in a road compressor and that's had similar symptoms, there is a gauze filter on the lift pump that was blocked on mine and the lift pump does have a fault where only a small amount of fuel come through if it gets low in the tank.

Like others I'm sure its a fuel starvation problem.
