We say we want AIC to allow UK grain to have same intake requirements as imports. Guy is waffling on about government, neonics, and watering down RT rules to lowest common denominator is bad.

We're not talking about lowering RT rules, we're saying we don't need RT at all to supply to a feed mill in same way as imports.

Is it just me?

The last paragraph is the money shot - if the processors agreed to take UK grain on the same basis as imports then any them who want higher assurance standards would have to pay extra for them. As of now they get them for free. And they want to keep it that way.

Quite. We've effectively got to be assured, otherwise we can't even sell to a feed mill.

Make it optional, then feed mills can decide If they want RT or not. Then, if they want RT, but mill down the road doesn't, they'd need to pay a premium.

True market forces working well. No complaints about that. Would be a good thing.

If its the Governments fault for banning neonics there was obviously a reason (however bollocky it is) and surely this 'reason' should apply to imports. Or have I missed something?

No-one is blaming red tractor for government policy. The problem with red tractor is that they add cost but no value to the UK farm sector.
