To be fair to him, he is in a very difficult position. It's obvious what's wrong with the status quo (all their songs are the same), but it's his job to look after the interests of his employers; so he has to keep saying what a jolly good scheme it is for everyone and "look there's an aeroplane over there!" Or anything he can think of to change the subject.
So morally bankrupt?

I feel for Guy. The RT Crops Chair has truly been a poisoned chalice for him.
The question is would he earn more respect by resigning now OR can he really make a difference in making the much needed radical changes that the sector is demanding.
Needs some change at the top, Mosley is not the right man to engage with farming members ……..

no one decent will touch the nfu positions as they have no say and get brainwashed by the hidden people at the top
so we get second rate people so its never going to change unless the very top get exposed and sorted out

Exactly that. Not rocket science is it.

RT can exist, pesticide declaration equal to imports can exist.

They just want the money. It's obvious, and readers will work it out, just like everyone on this thread has.

If they're smart, they can save 50% of their business. If they're not smart, they'll all have to resign. RT, NFU AHDB.

They're backed into a corner. There's no way out. If I were them, I'd change tact and agree wirh us ASAP.
I'd rather them not change tack and go out with a hell of a bang.

But he should know better than to work for dodgy employers.

thats a lie....if a supplier in another country wanted to be rt they would have to let them join....the only thing they couldn't use is the union jack.....i've heard rumour some kiwi suppliers are working towards just that

i read op but had to go out.......given thinking time my 'take' on guy's arguement is that it's very very lame .....considering the time elapsed to respond

Perhaps. But that's being very kind to the NFU.

Without Farmers what is the NFU ? Just another insurance agency .. perhaps the sham "Union" needs to break. Nothing much there of any significance if @Guy Smith doesn't know what a farmer is.

No it bloody well can’t!

I tipped my OSR in a shed containing thousands of tons of the stuff!

I challenge anyone to work out which tiny bit of the heap came from my farm😂😂😂😂😂

And if some of that OSR came in from the Ukraine produced using a Cancer causing pesticide ? Where would that leave our produce ? We'd end up with Commodities Traders wiped out due to RT incompetance in the food chain and some farmers out of pocket as cheques bounce.

Time the Scam was taken out of RT.

How many farmers do you know that shaft the UK farming industry ?

This ones turned into a Politician, he ain't no farmer.

That is very much the impression i got of Guy Smith when i met him.

Wait untill Minette Batters takes up her new role at the RT company and then you will know what a snake is like!

Amazing that farmers/ex NFU office holders like AN GOF still have any faith in the NFU!

@Guy Smith care to defend your comments in the FW today or would you rather just ignore RT members and their views????.............................
