It is shallow to think that 'clapping like seals' was for the NHS alone. Yes it let folk who were working amid the chaos know they were appreciated but the greater good it did was to bring diverse communities together. But if you didn't see what a clever socially engineered event it was then you won't get it now. All races, creeds, colours and religions for once doing something without socially constructed walls or reservation. It was a master stoke that obviously went over some folks heads.

I reckon you would be more accurate if you replaced the word all with some, not saying the sentiment was misplaced just that it doesnt register with a silent majority

Had the AZ 48 hours ago

Yesterday had a slight nagging head ache

Today, f**k me - full on fever, hot & cold shakes and serious vomiting from 3am today

Only just made it out of bed tonight at 7.30pm

Feeling a bit better now and can have a cup of tea and toast, without visiting the white porcelain

Tonight’s curry was shelved [emoji2961]

Do you think there is any chance you have already had Covid? The Times is reporting today, quite a high incidence of adverse reactions among people who have had the disease.

Mmm, if I have had it, then I must have been completely asymptomatic and passed it on to none of the family
Possible, as I did have some weird tastes in Nov/Dec last year when everything tasted a bit 'metallic', but no cough/fever or o2 drop
Have you a link to the Times article?

Every time the TV news discusses vaccinations, they show folk being injected with very long needles into their upper arms. And my reaction is: that's another few thousand who will be put-off getting the jab.

There are 3 main phobias: public speaking, spiders, and syringes with long needles. So why doesn't someone with half a brain realise this?

In fact, I reckon that the first woman (now world famous) who received the jab was heavily sedated beforehand.

Not so good, hope you are feeling better now. They have been using the AZ vaccine for staff in the some of French hospitals but have had problems up to 50% of younger members having to go off sick as soon as they had been vaccinated. They are now are limiting the numbers having it for fear of staff shortages. My DIL went into anaphylactic shock with the Pfizer vaccine and was rushed into A&E, fortunately she was OK 2 hours later, but my son had it with no reaction at all. :scratchhead:

Suppose we have to bear in mind these are powerful drugs , even the flu jab can cause issues

I did notice recently some probably stock footage of a person being injected with something that looked more like bayonet attached to a syringe and thinking sh!t there must be a shortage 26g needles.

There is little question that the pfizer vaccine causes issues with a certain group but the AZ has very near zero issues , certainly at my local surgery and facebook page reports zero.
I would hazard to suggest that the issues reported in France are far more to do with some looking for a few days off.

Quite a few deaths now in over 80s a day or so after they have had the vaccine apparently!
Bloody hell guth An 80 year old dies. Thats illegal now isn’t it. Dieing is now an illegal act punishable by a period in prison. you have no need to take the vaccine, not mandatory, old fella. But do not be surprised if society decides to give you a wide berth and maybe refuse you access.

The ones who have died after just have the vaccine were healthy ( for their age ) untill just after getting the vaccine.... No need to say more!

And regardless of the above, infection rates are falling off a cliff so what is the need to vaccinate healthy young people anyway??
