I think for the money they are great. I have two of these 200-piece sets bought a few years ago, for the same money @ £135.

Have another slightly smaller 170 piece set I got for £100 in 2015.

You can ever have enough spanner/socket sets! :p

Excellent price... Trade Card takes nothing off either.

Cracking stuff I've a mix of this stuff and Bahco.

Bahco only replaced a load of Halfords Pro/Advanced that was stolen.

I've a super duper elfangdo cheapo Silverline set aswell known as the " Smash On " set where nothing else but Smashing a socket on or sacrificing a piece of it to make a tool will do.

Got one a while back & for the money it's great, although would be better with more 6 sided sockets rather than the star/12 point ones. Other things to watch for - the front catches fail fairly quickly & the foam wadding disintegrates - a bit of old towelling works as a replacement.

This is half the trouble. A decent tool kit is 75% about the tools, 25% about the box.

No point having a good set of tools if the box is rubbish. I’d rather have something 80% of the quality and a cracking box.

The box on them is OK. Granted the latches are a bit naff, but it’s otherwise the same standard of blown plastic you get for most power tools.

If you want a sexy box - you could always cut the box along the ‘hinge’ and pop the two halves in the draws of your £5k SnapOn roll chest :p:D

A nightmare to keep clean ...........

Edit:
Agree about the box, have spanner sets and the holder is almost as important as the quality, as you can instantly see the size you need. As soon as the holder goes the sets get discarded, well end up in the bottom of the tool box.

I've never bought Snap-on in my life, my previous half inch set was from Screwfix and I never managed to break a socket above 12mm by hand. I did snap a 13mm with a long bar but I figure even if the Halfords are only as good as Screwfix it was a lot more for the money.
Reviewers seem to bang on about the number of degrees rotation it takes to engage each click but I think I'm more of a big stick kind of tinkerer than a precision engine surgeon.
Keep the receipt. The lass behind the desk recommended I scan it into my computer and save the email receipt in a folder so that I'll have no issues at any time down the line.
I'd far rather have some tink rip me off for this set from the back of my truck than the equivalent set of Snap-on or Teng.
Anyone toted up what this collection would cost from Snap-on?
