Handier way to fill top fill tanker.

For the past couple of years i have been using an old top fill tanker to start spreading slurry in spring, it is 1300gallon with 28.1r26, floats. only reason i dont use it in summer is the pipe from the slurry mixer to the tanker is to hard for one man to put up. Tow farms are away from home and often o struggle to get the pipe prop extended with the pipe or else could spend an evening using the loader tractor then home for another to spread.

sorry no pictures to explain but im sure some of the members here know what i mean or could come up with an idea.

I prefer it for the close land close to farms as it is handy and light on the ground, also no pipe to handle, can do a full day slurry and not stink, or sink. The other tanker is 2250 and good for long draws but if ground is wet or iffy it gets tricky very quick.

Converted Vacuum tanker probably the most straight forward, other than that a tanker that you could couple up and let the pump fill, then use an over head boom on it and reverse under with your open top.
If on a short draw you could probably even let it tick over filling whilst your working.

Had thought of the overhedge boom at one time they were taken off and fit to be bought separate. Haven't seen one in a few years. Really don't want another tanker.

Wouldn’t cost a fortune to make a simple one to get you away, just turn with a ram one way for example. Scrap 1300 not much money.

This is what you're looking for I would think. Tow it to the farm behind the tanker, one man can set up, winch to adjust height, basket to carry hose and clamps.

Finally finished this. Decided this was worth a try and tested this morning it works. With the top hatch open some froth will over flow before slurry. Only issue is the tanker on the pump idles too high so pipe was 3/4 full of slurry to pto was turned off.

Still fitnto fill with over hedge pipe if needed or if we buy a tanker with one fitted and use this as a field tanker when we are forced to do the dribble bar route. Don't fancy buying 2 and this will be the most useful tanker.
