Do the fb always come out ? i did 40 heifers every year for 5 year and lots of fails so gave up, yours look good ?
With us expanding last few years we have FB around 200 and out of those we have only had to get the guy back to redo 2 that never came up!

All the rest are fully visible and clip the hair off around it when they come inside and that's it

Hmmm don't understand why it wouldn't work then!

Out of interest would people say there is a difference from doing them on the Rib to the rump???
Ie success rates or lasting???

Are your calves born tagged?! :ROFLMAO:

(Oops. Didn't realise I was late to the tagging craic..)
I watched for about 2 hours on camera. Got up to the barn before the cow had got up and turned around. Dragged the calf away from the slurry and on to a dry bed and tagged her. I could hardly grip the legs they were so slimy . Mum was cleaning her on the way.

Those cows sound a pleasure to work with. We are only 4 in so far, first 3 were fine but I wasn't allowed anywhere near the 4th this evening!

She didn't move much from being right underneath the camera overnight and I wasn't sure the calf had sucked. I put a halter on the cow , she didn't bat an eyelid as I milked a bit of colustrum in to my Speedy Feeder and gave the calf some just in case. Navel still exposed and I wanted to be sure.

Thankyou. He's a blonde out of the Angus behind him. This is him just after he was born just under 4 weeks ago.
