Born 2 weeks early, seemed healthy, until at a week old he was scoured and at death's door [emoji20] In the photo he's just starting to pick up again[emoji106] now a month later and safe to say he's fighting fit- he doesn't stand still long enough for a photo [emoji1] he's just a red blur as he races around the shed (y)

Always nice when they pull through and turn into a strong healthy calf (y)

I watched for about 2 hours on camera. Got up to the barn before the cow had got up and turned around. Dragged the calf away from the slurry and on to a dry bed and tagged her. I could hardly grip the legs they were so slimy . Mum was cleaning her on the way.

Helpful hint - use a dish towel in either hand around the legs , it soaks up enough goop to get a grip without being too coarse.

Love all the pic's! Beautiful calves and happy mums.

Really sweet cow calved lunch time. Her mother was 16 when she moved on. Bred consistently through out her time. Molly looks as if she is following mammy. At 3 hours old the heifer calf (we are having an extraordinary amount of heifers) had sucked and was play fighting with mam. When we went in she rushed over to play with us. She's blue out of limx. I tried to take a picture but she was too friendly!

Had a successful cesarean on one of our Heifers today that we were told had a narrow pelvis at scanning!
Large Calve with massive head [emoji23][emoji23] Typical.....

Quick question: Who else when checking there cows almost 2nd guesses themselves whether the vet is needed or not or that maybe try little longer yourself etc???

My favourite cow, Crystal Galaxy and her new heifer calf born today. Her first calf calved twins in February and she gave me twin bulls the second time.
Last year's heifer calf also in the picture was born April 27th.

Flying here. Had about 80 since the 16th. Been into double figures most days, 16 yesterday 10 again and counting today. Lots of twins so far and everything born alive is still alive. Looking good at the moment. Getting them out to grass now too
