Hardi main on/off control valve?

So my trusty old Hardi sprayer is playing up today. It occasionally refuses to turn off and sometimes on.
Enquired about a new valve but Neil @SimpersTradeCounter has scared me about the price so I've bravely ripped it apart!!
Can someone more technical than me advise me on how to diagnose where the dodgy part may be ....?
I wired it up to a car battery and it would spin around one way but when I changed the polarity it wouldn't go the opposite way. So I prodded the micro switch..nothing ...I wiggles the wires on the motor ....nothing ....I wriggled the wires that go to the little cylinder things (diodes maybe?) ...nothing
Then all of a sudden it started to turn [emoji3]
Put it all back together ....bolted it back to the sprayer and the bar steward worked twice then refused to shut off !!!!
So I'm guessing I have either a faulty micro switch a faulty cylinder thingy or a faulty motor jobby? [emoji45]

I had the same problem last year.
I took the micro switches apart and cleaned the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, put it back together and has been trouble free since!

I have sprayed contact cleaner on them in situ but might have to unsolder them and see if I can make a better job

I think I just opened the micro switch up, I didnt touch the solder. Hope you get it sorted, I had to finish a field off last year by turning the PTO on and off - it didn't work as well as you would think

You can get the blue holder with new micro switches ready attached, from Hardi, for a stiff price, just need to solder it in.
Unless you can identify the micro switches and just buy those.
Perhaps @Pheasant Surprise might be kind enough to have a look and suggest an alternative supplier?
Edit,
You have cleaned up the contacts on the multi plug to the in cab box, and the contact and wires inside the DIN plug that plugs into the tractor cab, forgive me asking....

Its a Hardi microswitch, but there’s nothing stopping you fitting an alternative like a Honeywell or Cherry switch. Either match the hole spacing etc or just drill new holes into the blue baseplate to suit the plunger position on the switch. The orientation of where the terminals exit the microswitch is nether here nor there.

As @David. says Hardi replacement part is available (both switches and blue plate). Part no. 72137200.

These guys appear to have the original Hardi 9SMB022B microswitches for sale separately. For not too much dosh. Only hitch is they’re in Denmark!!

Just put in new micro-switches. They are only a few squid each. Not worth mucking about with.

Ditto the diodes, they are pennies. You could replace both microswitches and diodes for less than a tenner.
I did spend an hour trawling Ebay to see if I could match the micro switches but it's a minefield when you don't really know what you are looking for !!

Thank you for that ...I didn't realise that the switches and diodes would be available separately...this may well be my simplest option

No I haven't used contact cleaner on the control box plugs but I will today ...thanks for the suggestion...I did wire the control valve direct to a battery whist I had it apart though a d it still played up so I don't think the issue is with the wiring

Thank you for the part number info and the link ...I will investigate that :)
