In my experience they're just strong enough in everyday use and should be fine if not ill treated. They're not as strongly built as a Gem or Knight but I prefer their design as it's the right compromise between weight and strength. Just don't try to wrap the booms around a pole as they bend quite easily, but this is true of all booms to a degree of course.
I have a 1999 vintage LPZ boom and it has been good, apart from the outer breakback sections, which have rotted a bit and had attention.
Had to just repair and gusset a slight weld crack in centre back plate section last year, just as stitch in time precaution.
