Harry Metcalfe of Harry's Farm videos uses a mobile weather radar app that seens to be pretty useful, does anybody know what it is?

I use rain alarm pro. looks very similar.

Yes, it is Rain Today. I've tried it and not found it very useful. Each to their own.

I find it less accurate when we go walking in very hilly areas, but usually close to spot on around home.

I just use ordinary rain radar, it is good enough for me. Free too.

I find that The Weather Chanel is excellent. Not spot on for further ahead than two days but as good as any other and great for sending rain alerts. Almost magic at that.

Most rain radars these days seem pretty good (I use Accuweather). However there are some weather systems when they simply can’t predict accurately enough - light drizzle/no drizzle is one; the second that springs to mind is when showers are v localised.

In the 2018 drought, for example, I remember two occasions when I was driving to check my stock and, less than half a mile from where they were, I drove through the mother of all thunderstorms, one of those downpours where it flows down the side of the road and floods across the road at the bottom of the hill. Serious amounts of rain. Got to my fields - as I say, 800 yards or so away - and they were bone dry

I don’t know if any radar that is accurate enough for this situation.

RainToday app. It is good and free!

Rain Today is awesome. This past weekend was the British Prokart 24 hour endurance race at Teesside, the other teams were crapping themselves about the forecast, while we were calmly planning our strategy using the app.

I know what you mean [in the section I cut] but I do find The Weather Channel's local weather warnings uncanny for my farm. Not sure about it when I'm travelling. It gives me a half hour warning before most showers or rain.

What's happened to the raintoday website?

Can't find it, or the app?

Used the website loads over the years,. Any alternatives that show the last few hours of rain, really useful to see where rain is heading.

Shows the previous hour or so radar imagery so you can get a picture of where the rain is going and how fast.

I don't like rain alarm as much as meteo as the alarm one only has 30 minute updates and meteo does it in 5 minute chunks.

It’s Rain Today which is an affiliate of Weather Pro. WP is average at best to be honest. I just use the free version now as the paid for one isn’t worth it.
