Most rain radars these days seem pretty good (I use Accuweather). However there are some weather systems when they simply can’t predict accurately enough - light drizzle/no drizzle is one; the second that springs to mind is when showers are v localised.

In the 2018 drought, for example, I remember two occasions when I was driving to check my stock and, less than half a mile from where they were, I drove through the mother of all thunderstorms, one of those downpours where it flows down the side of the road and floods across the road at the bottom of the hill. Serious amounts of rain. Got to my fields - as I say, 800 yards or so away - and they were bone dry 🥲

I don’t know if any radar that is accurate enough for this situation.

I know what you mean [in the section I cut] but I do find The Weather Channel's local weather warnings uncanny for my farm. Not sure about it when I'm travelling. It gives me a half hour warning before most showers or rain.

What's happened to the raintoday website?

Can't find it, or the app?

Used the website loads over the years,. Any alternatives that show the last few hours of rain, really useful to see where rain is heading.

Harry Metcalfe of Harry's Farm videos uses a mobile weather radar app that seens to be pretty useful, does anybody know what it is?

It’s Rain Today which is an affiliate of Weather Pro. WP is average at best to be honest. I just use the free version now as the paid for one isn’t worth it.
