I'm still looking for winter wheat seed growers to follow a break - beans would be great, maize likewise, sugar beet or potatoes - not fussy. PM me if interested. Forward fix base price + premium. Need to get it placed - farmer with the land 'in the driving seat'!

It seems there 3 crops in one. There are dead black balls with nowt in them, balls that are fit and full of tea coloured seeds, and yellowy balls that are like mush. Anyone else havng the same problem?
I dont think late N and rainfall has helped.

I went to see a mate with hundreds of acres of linseed left to cut. Similar problems - just not dead yet. He left quickly when the driver rang to say his [Claas] combine was on fire

Drilling date ? I was always led to believe that you could drill linseed right up to the end of May, very true, but you will be very lucky to be able to harvest the crop. We had a very large area late drilled about 15 years ago and trying to combine it in October was a complete nightmare, never grown the crop since, but been tempted many times..

We drilled some in mid June - it's cut no problem, still got 50ac ex 250 to do but it's been low piority while we focused on drilling and hope it dries a bit more, it's ready though
