Harvest 2015 progress

My agro did explain what and why it was changed but most of it was over my head, he spoke with the manufacturer stating my observations and got an answer.
I found it was fine on stubble with a decent rate but very slow on SB greetings in the tram lines and WW where slightly green under trees etc.

Sound like they have reduced its effectiveness ( whilst keeping the price the same ), that's all very well but waiting 3 weeks for it to kill standing corn and possible two weeks to kill greenings in tramlines/ under trees etc is a nonsense and far too long!!

If you up the dosage rate does that make any diffence??

Well yesterday not so good but finished beans on that farm and moved to linseed.had a really tough 9 ac triangle field, lots of overlaps and short work. Moved into 32ac field and was going well when suddendly the bolts holding knife onto drive gearbox sheared. Had to get cordless drill and remove the studs and repair, loss a hour or so. However did it again 30mins later, loss another 40mins. Finished at 6.30 before wrapping started. Anyhow went back today and did last 12 acs.
Move tomorrow to hopefully do last 44 acs of beans at home 12miles away.

Finished harvest this afternoon taking all of 10 minutes, after a minor breakdown at 6 last night regarding the reel stopped turning. Fixed this morning, went drilling most of the day, finished combining beans and now watching some rugby, let the beer flow!(y)

Finished today with some Concerto at 17%. It has been an exceptional spell of weather although some days were spoiled by mist and heavy dew. Yields have been good. We drilled some wheat yesterday in great conditions. Here is the 25 year old Dominator piloted by my 89 year old father.

Saw some spring rape being dessicated the other day. Should be good to go in three weeks or so! (n)

Not heard of any beans being cut yet, some look quite green yet. Still odd field of wheat scattered around.

Finished last night with spring planted Wizard beans, managed to get six 21 c/m trailers full off 30 acres, but at 25%+ I fear a lot of that is water.
Now comes the fun bit, drying them.
