I sprayed my barley headlands last night, hope to be on middle next week. I hear a velcourt farm has sprayed all theirs expecting to start july 1st.
@Brisel have you seen the spring barley my fellow tenant has accidently killed off just along the road from you?

I was away on holiday last week so haven’t seen much. I’ll have a look, not knowing quite where you mean. Is it along the main road south of you?

Head south out your village towards the inn. On left just through the trees before old church ruins on the right. 50 acres so can't miss it! Merchant mixed up the spray cans and it wasn't spotted.

Of course, trouble is the sun isn't very much use under trees and hedges plus we have a range of soil types in most fields.

Reckon there's 2-3 weeks now between the clays and the shales, here.

Plus it's another fortnight later under the trees and hedges.

So, for example, steep bank in one field of Bazooka will easily cut Friday, but under the wood on the bottom headland it'll get spayed off sometime next week or the week after

I walked a field of bazooka earlier and the straw is bone dry, the ears rub out easy but when you bite the grain odd ones are still slightly soft. The majority are like rock.

Cassia and other fields of bazooka still have a slight green tinge to them so they're a good 2 to 3 weeks away yet.

Same here, but it will have to be in the barn Friday before the ripest ears start to neck down below the stones.

What's really needed is a shower of rain now so more easily to be able to get the awns off.

Not likely to happen before Friday apparently, so specific weight's going to be a bit of a joke.

Mine is fit to go but I''m not ready. Plan at the mo is to start Monday coming providing all the pre harvest jobs get done this week.
