Worse thing is that wife has taken a bit of time off work and announced this morning that the kitchen and a bedroom needs decorating and as I can t go combining , I might as well do that instead!!! It's not so bad once I get into it but painting is not my faviout job but I m struggling to find an excuse !

God I know how that feels! Our whole house needs doing, thinking about it fills me with a sense of dread. When I get the time I need to get my head around it and once started I’m fine. It’s just the starting!

As a friend once told me, the best way to do DIY is to decide what needs doing, and then ring a professional and pay him to do it for you....

nearly 5" of rain fell over us from last fri morning upto tonight now
Had showers every day this week since, tried the rape again mid afternoon & even drizzle in the air we kept going, stuck twice, tractor pulled it out backwards that strong chain i
bought in 2012 is worth its weight in gold.
But the land is in a sorry state now its as wet as it gets by the end of Oct when you really shouldnt be on it.
some rape is trying to sprout in the pods can you believe it. ive never seen that before.
Ready to chuck the towel in i can tell you

And safely in the pub again by 6.00.

Cheers! :joyful::joyful::joyful: (6X)

Combine not moved for 15 days, only done WBarley and OSR. Getting lots of forecast rain but also on the odd day which is meant to be fine ie Monday night ( had 3mm ,none forcast). We ve had 40mm ish last two weeks.
Not overly bothered at moment as everything is stood but some S Barley I may end up cutting is starting to fall down.

@Oscar JFDI. Doing the decorating will make the time go faster. No point just worrying - she is probably trying to help. :)

as much as i care for mrs 4 course if she suggested it a good idea to decorate in the middle of harvest i would be a tad disgruntled, even if she suggested we practice making babies i would need a reliable forecast wether it was all stood ! or not, ho ho

As someone said, get over to the "pimp my pusher thread" and get in the workshop and build something useful. The time will still go faster.

Should be finished harvest by 3am.

Back on now at 17% with 240 acres to cut.

There are a lot of people holding off cutting because they say it’s only mid August. That wheat will be growing in the ear by 24th August after what comes tomorrow and this weekend.
Great achievement. What crops did you harvest, and what combine capacity does your contractor have.
At what moisture content of different crops, do you say to your contractor it is ok to combine at?
