What?Great achievement. What crops did you harvest, and what combine capacity does your contractor have.
At what moisture content of different crops, do you say to your contractor it is ok to combine at?
Thanks, will give them a go.Give these boys a phone. Sorted us out this year already. Also an Alvan blanch drier. Based up this way too. http://www.graintek.co.uk/
nearly 5" of rain fell over us from last fri morning upto tonight now
Had showers every day this week since, tried the rape again mid afternoon & even drizzle in the air we kept going, stuck twice, tractor pulled it out backwards that strong chain i
bought in 2012 is worth its weight in gold.
But the land is in a sorry state now its as wet as it gets by the end of Oct when you really shouldnt be on it.
some rape is trying to sprout in the pods can you believe it. ive never seen that before.
Ready to chuck the towel in i can tell you
Rained yesterday. Next week looks better.
Feel guilty posting this! We have done really well with the weather in NE lincs 70% of wheat cut before this interruption, most of it below 16% moisture. For us high yields, better than last year, though I don’t have a weighbridge, I think it will be a record here. Second wheat yields just as high as first which is unusual for us.
There does seem to be an unfortunate east west divide. Though our larger neighbours are just finishing their OSR. Which is probably more of a comparison with you. Us tiddlers have plenty of combine capacity! While here in plain north Lincolnshire have done almost nothing so far.
