I’ve got to tread carefully at the weekend. Family wedding on Saturday at Great Ness, with family coming from all over, even Australia. So no combining that day. Then there’s an after wedding bbq on the Sunday for family, and it’s my wife’s birthday. Would you risk going combining on Sunday ?
Similar here big family birthday, on her side, just hope I've got a bit done before

Was working out which days we've cut so far.

Monday 29th July
Fri 2nd Aug
Sat 3rd
Sun 4th
Tues 6th
Thurs 8th
Tuesday 13th

So 7 out of 15 days, only three have been consecutive.

Almost none have been full days, and and often mostly evenings. Total of 50 drum hours on the machine over that time.

Can now add Thurs 15th and Wed 21st to the list.

That’s 9 out of 24 days!

We're flat out all weekend. The fine weather is set until the end of the month, which is 9 days away. I've got more than 9 days of harvest left.

Caught another shower at 8pm and an overcast and miserable morning so will prob be 3 before we make a start. Still haven’t got under 15% on any wheat
If Guy Smith reputedly farm the driest farm in UK, I think you must farm one of the wettest, or certainly the unluckiest, as you seem to get every shower that is going. Cheer up though its going to get hot and dry, even in East Yorks.

I haven’t got much to do compared to you guys, but when your stopping the combine to go and tip trailers , run the drier, push up grain load lorries and try and get some straw, it does get a bit overwhelming sometimes.
Beats waiting for a contractor though.
I have to stop and drive 22 miles to tip up , no drying or pushing up though .
