The Skyfall ears were delicate 2 weeks ago. We have been frustrated with road closures, and showers. I hope to get there Monday and hope not too is much on the floor.
Not sure there's many roads in Bedfordshire they're not working on at the moment.
Made the A422 easier with the combine the other day though!

Wheat tested at 18.5 % just now. Earlier drilled stuff been shedding a little in the wind. Will have a nibble this afternoon if it doesn't rain. Catchy week forecast but who really knows?

If it's flowable then it's goable as far as I'm concerned. Need to clear it to get the rape in.

In laws staying for a week just to add to it. Told them not to come in August!

Neighbours going. My adjoining field is close to 20 percent so not overly bothered. Might go look at 4pm and see if a small block of random variety will go as it's destined for central store anyway.

Neighbours going here. Been round our field to pull out fallen branches. Dead fit in the field but green under the trees. A bit of rubbish growing in the bottom. Should have round upped it round the outside. Note for next year. Can't see the stubble culitvator killing the weeds if it stays damp and no chance of spraying them off under a blanket of chopped straw before the OSR. Ploughing would be a bit desperate and leave it prone to wind blow. So the stubble cultivator will have to do, when we get the wheat off.

The high winds yesterday have shed approx 100 to 200 kg/ha in most places (guess based on what a seed rate looks like when not covered properly, from memory) from Siskin, Skyscraper and Jigsaw. Skyfall appears to have shed less, my theory being the awns cushion the heads from each other better. Mid Lincolnshire.
