A light shower here last night & more showers this morning, on what should be a sunny dry windy day.

Over 30mm fell on Friday afternoon, river bank full, dried well in the sun and wind yesterday then more rain fell overnight, blowing again now but it’s got some drying to do now! Some forecasts suggest dry all week others showers on and off joys!

Got going at noon 19 . 5 % just sneaked on steady
Blowing a gale and quite warm when the suns out it’s down to 18 now

Forecast for here is better but not brilliant next week so just going to plod on straw isn’t fit to bale but neither has the last 200 acres been that’s still lying

3mm rain this morning has scuppered today's cutting. A hand rubbed spring barley sample was 20.8% at 3pm so it won't dry enough tonight.

Rubbed a barley sample out at 3 and was surprised that it was down to 18 after 5mm this morning. Giving it a go in an hour or so.

17.5 % 4.5 t/a third wheat. Will take that

Will be back on tomorrow. Tested at 16.5 at lunch. Three hours of drying wind.....and up to eighteen.
