Just had a text to go on at 2pm,contract cut wheat. Was 21% last evening after rain Wednesday but now 16%,fairly breezy and warm but not sunny. Down to around 100acs wheat,30 acs late drilled S Barley(had r up this am) and 45 acs of linseed(been sprayed a week). The linseed is my own.
Did nt end well , should be in "grinds your gears" thread !
Finished field I was rained off in on Tuesday evening , 15 acs. Tricky move back to another 15 ac field of "poor" WW at 4.30 pm ish . New farm so first time I ve cut the fields however I admit that I ve done the spraying. Anyhow third time around and large tree stump to avoid { I knew that one existed], docks growing high above crop and drill has done a wide drive by. What no body told me was that 20 yds away on forth time around was a dustbin size stump 9 inch s high, no weeds and drill must have scrapped the edges of the stump and you ve guessed, unloading and topping off load, 6 km /hr has resulted in tree stump 1 - header 0 !!! Bent and twisted header , caught it smack on the RH divider.

2 days cutting left and raining again near Exeter, at least I can watch the grain drier from here! ( and get a way with calling it work).

Couple of hours rain here, too.

But you'll still be finished up well before us, fieldfarmer, because it'll take me all next week to dry down the 17-19% stuff we've still got tipped in various places from earlier on..

Your not alone, dried 112 ton so far to-day, going to spend some time with the kids now on the promise of good weather early next week.

Never had a trolley that didn't need some wood under the far wheel .
We had to replace a stub axle on our trolley. Put one on which had a larger wheel on as a replacement on the far side. Makes hitching up much easier (TX66)
My problem is if Dad is moving header and has to go into field. Always trys to get me to hitch header too close to gate and combine is often at a bad angle.

S Barley finished today, might have a look at the S Beans tomorrow, but still quite a bit of green in the stalks
And here. Sharp shower around 3.00pm meant we still had 2 acres of SB to cut but sun and wind meant finished at 7.00pm. Likewise bean stalks a bit green but pods showing signs of splitting so they are going to have to go on Monday!

Back on wheat. Filling drier sheds, turning controllers on, and will stirr in a week. No point waiting for unreliable nature when we can burn some gas - wonder how much less we would use if roundup used pre harvest.........
