Think our barley will be later than usual, which is normally about 20th July. Got a neighbour that grows malting barley, still Maris Otter I think, who’s looks very yellow compared to ours.

Good 4 weeks I'd say, as the old saying goes, if you think it's ready, go on holiday for 2 weeks, and I don't think that will look ready in 2 weeks from now unless we get 30 degrees and sunshine everyday. Would think we will be starting in Essex about the 20th of July.

We’ve got some sensation that has changed a lot in the last week, harvest will soon be here.

Here in the middle of France combines would normally be rolling next week, but it's been a funny old season with just 21mm of rain in April, then a cold wet May [69mm]. The first week of June saw 20 mm followed by a week of scorching heat. Finally thunderstorms and 67 mm in the last 7 days, so there is now quite a bit of flat wheat and I don't see much chance of anything until the end of the month. As my old Dorset neighbour once remarked, "I ain't never knowed a time like it."

Can't see us combining OSR until early/mid August,roughly a fortnight later than usual.

What have people had rain wise. We have had very little in the last 4 weeks, North Yorkshire, but still moisture underneath. I can see some sands burning up if it doesn’t come much rain in the next few weeks.

The wheat is definitely 2 weeks behind most years this year. However, Winter barley often starts to noticeably turn about the 14th June (my Birthday) here. This year, I could definitely notice it started by the 10th June. So I predict that it will be fit just before mid July.
