That was the same day we started in 2018, nothing ready yet but I did spray a Field off on Tuesday so about 10 days away now. Of course it’s nothing but rain for the next week

Tour de France yesterday they were cracking on with harvest. Think if it was me I would have stopped for 10 minutes while they went past.

10th of August, everything ready same day, as seems the norm nowadays. Probably be juggling haymaking same day too.

Winter wheat still as green as grass, earliest spring barley not even looking like changing colour, heavy land is still coming into ear and the spring wheat is 80% shot so it’s not going to be early, I think 28th of August for some spring barley

I’ll probably be nibbling a bit off by Wednesday/Thursday if it drys up. Not seen anyone cut anything as yet though.

Still waiting for a few greens in the trams but not
many days away .Might have to dry them out of the mix and crack on.

Spraying off winter barley tomorrow on light land. Rest will be a fortnight till its ready to spray.

Anyone else noticed this?

Been rogueing spring barley and a lot the heads seem to be stuck. It isn't breaking out of stem and still some awns through base of flag leaf. Not had pgr. Laureate.

Excuse the wellies I was sleeping in a tramline.

Had a lot like that last year and put it down to drought. Also had quite a lot of blind grain sites aswell.

The bit I’m thinking of going on was sprayed off a fortnight ago tomorrow, it’s right next to the road and I was sick of looking at the May weed .
Rained all afternoon today but it’s supposed to be coming hot from tomorrow so just waiting on the moisture to drop on the bit now.
The other 95% is still probably a week 10 days off but the forecast 26 degree heat will soon turn it! I don’t usually spray anything off.

At the weekend drove by some cut barley I presume it was in Dorset (Sherborne). I suspect it was for crimping. The straw did look the right colour to be fit but the weather recently has been pants.

Probably make a start tomorrow, got some starting to brackel over and it’s not even the fields that’s been sprayed off!
