Orwell WB officially large Labrador height, and straw fit too, although my sampling buddy dozed off in the middle of the moisture reading procedure. Could have a nibble tomorrow if weather and inclination allows.

Could easily have started today, but combine broke down on way to field, it's now raining and the pub's open.

Still on for 10th July, probably.

:D :D

In any event, this harvest's going to be the least enjoyable ever since the great drought of 1989, when the high point, as I recall, was claiming the insurance for a field of barley on fire.

we started yesterday on winter barley (matching our all time record for early starts) but the striking thing this year might be a long drawn out harvest... I reckon our Spring wheat is 4-6 weeks away yet!

French have a lorry and drag system , drops 2 bins in field collects 2 full uns 16 tons I believe , think it's 120 euro a pop though
In the past while on holiday in France , I have always wondered how their drop and collect bin system worked. I assume the system is run / organised by Cooperative Grainstores across the country, a system that lends it self well to the many small farmers across France.
Any French TFF members please comment.
