I've recently joined a new farm and were trying to figure out dates for next year to pre-plan Straw and Hay Buying for next year. It's been hit and miss the last few years.
Can someone give me some rough guidelines for dates of Harvest for 2024. When is Hay Grown and Cut/Baled/ Ready to buy? 1st and 2nd Cuts? When is Straw Grown and Cut/Baled/ Ready to buy? (We use oat, Barley, wheat) whatever is available, only used to bed up cattle and sheep and some pig plots. When is Sileage grown? From what date do animals need to be off the fields? We usually cut and wrap around June?
