cut the first field of w b my pessimism appears to be unfounded ,,,,,,,,,,,, at least on this bit ,considering the 2 headlands (long narrow field)with little grain and the drowned out patch will settle for what weve got ,just below farm average ,spoilt by a few green grains but fan will soon shrivel them up, Next ww but not down below 16 this afternoon after torrential thunderstorm sunday and showers yesterday so will hang fire till tomorrow so long as weather is on our side wb straw looks reasonable will bale tomorrow

Started WW today, Zyatt 2nd wheat drilled 25th November. No irrigation. Will be lucky to get 3t acre, never known grain to be so hard and brittle. It’s like it’s been baked. Looks a good sample though. Not much straw at all.

Good luck to all you boys growing 12t/ha, but on our ground we couldn’t be more disappointed. We only had 44ha of wheat due to wet season. Ours all burnt off in April/May so didn’t bother with T3. Disappointed with first 27ha, averaging 7.98t/ha at 13.9%. Little did I know....Went on to second field of 17ha, only 6.52t/ha at 14.2%ha. All across weighbridge, only hope is that the 220ha of Maize we’ve grown looks like it should do 45-50t/ha as it is between 8ft and 11ft tall and cobbing well.

I was disappointed after reading the Farmers Weekly yields!!
Also seen videos on Instagram of UK farmers struggling to feed the wheat into a draper header showing 11-12t/ha.
After speaking to local, Warwickshire farmers, 7-8t/ha seems respectable. But not very profitable!
Good luck to rest of you, fingers crossed.
