has anyone repaired a front axle pivot on dexta

i am going to overhaul the engine in our dexta and at the same time fix the badly worn front axle pivot .... has anyone done this before ,the only way I can see to do this is to fill the badly worn hole with weld then machine it out... I should add not fill the badly worn hole only build up what is worn

Any pictures to see how bad it is?
You couldn't drill it out for a steel bush to carry the brass /bronze one, no?

Some lads over here, would weld a heavy duty washer (some even make their own) on both surfaces.
Shocking I know ........

Speak to phil Powell at berriew

There’s a chap locally that will machine it out.
New front pivot castings are available too.

thanks for reply kevtherev
does phil price do welding or just machining?
I am not sure how the inside of axle can be welded... I don't think it can be done with mig torch at the moment the only way that I can see how it can be done is to bend stick welding rods at 90% with a short stubby end that will fit inside axle unless somebody knows different
I will start in a few weeks
one more thing it is important that axle is machined in correct place or axle movement will be affected and I am not sure how that can be done
finally I want to keep the tractor as original as possible so thanks but no thanks to someone who might have a good spare axle
