Come on,we have had a pretty good summer this year surely?Sunshine is back next week anyway.

Will beleive it when I see it. Normally when they forecast this it's ok for most of the country except for the far west where it just drizzles. Anyway they always give a good forecast for a Bank Holiday weekend to keep the tourist industry happy.

High pressure due to build, how long it will last I know not! Most of the crops round here are still not fit, loads of fields half cut and then left, mine included!

Fair comment, I know we have had some belting weather this time but as soon as anybody dared to mutter the words "a couple of weeks and that barley will be fit" that was it-bang-the weather goes unsettled/crap

Still waiting for rain down here.
Supposed to get a little today but chances are slim.
Every day has been in the mid 20's and mostly sunny. Hard to believe sometimes we are in the same country!
It look as if this year will be the driest since 1976 for us, not quite as hot though.
It is too dry to plant any stubble turnips and what forage crops have been planted do not look very well.

Some harvesting has been done, but I am told that much of the wheat will need at least another week yet.

A lot of rain here in the past 24 hours. The wheelbarrow was half full. Mud returned....
The mornings have a distinct autumn feel to them, lots of dew, a chill and the light is different. I need more summer!

Just had a few moments of light drizzle today not enough to record in the rain gauge!
Started feeding ewes on hay as so little grass, temperature has dropped below 20'C at 5pm for the first time for ages.
Most combines are now parked up because all the early crops are dinished and the late sown stuff is not ready yet.

East coast, Yorkshire today - glorious.
Cloudless skies, 24 degrees + in the car, and in need of rain!
Looking forward to a 3rd cut, which won't fit into the already "bursting at the seams" clamps.
Great summer - long may it continue :D
