What issues are you having with brakes on CNH tractors then?

Your still going to have brake issues if your trailer brakes aren’t 100% whatever breed you use.
We were advised about trailer brakes, so we changed all the trailers for new ones in 2019, didnt solve brake issues at all.
All the trailers brakes are top notch, they pull the tractor back no matter what the conditions, but still after 600 hours the tractor i drive myself needs new brakes, and i only use the brakes when i have to

I was convinced my other drivers were running things too hard, so i dedicated myself for 600 hours on one of them and to my amazement I managed to go through a set in 600 hours.

Meanwhile a friend of mine is running john deeres and hasnt changed brakes in 6000 hours on his 6215r and it hauls a tri axle low loader with zaxis 210 ontop.

Commercial running gear/brakes on the trailers?

I find the exhaust brake on my 240cvx excellent, never had bother with brakes on any breed of tractor but I do have commercial axles on everything that goes down the road.

Hi eulb,
Yes we run trailers with commercial running gear... all are broughan except for one smaller cheiftain lowloader we use for getting down small laneways.

I think it could be that the tractor brakes come on too soon compared to the trailer brakes, so for a split moment the tractor is trying to stop everything.

What are your experiences running the 240 cvx?? As this is one of the recommended tractors from my cnh mechanic.

I know ones run only deeres doing a good bit of haulage and brakes are never an issue. They tried a different brand Massey if I remember right and brakes didn’t last more than a few hundred hours

I really like my 240,it’s only had one fault and that was pto selection and very harsh engagement,on my 20t dump trailer it will leave my Fendt 724 for dead.

Out of your listed tractors I’d have either a case/Nh or the Deere, also I’d be checking the air brakes come on sooner.

Hello all !
I am in the market for a haulage tractor to do all my trailer work.
Its main job will be hauling a dump trailer both on and off road.
I am considering ..

John deere 6215r
T7.260
Puma 220
Fastrac
Valtra t214 or 234
Fendt 930

Tractor has to have over 220 horses and front brakes.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!
Of that list, surely the fendt 930 is way more tractor than any of the others.

They dont run full for on road use,

offroad use we arent as strict with the loads So they end up getting loaded until it cant take no more.

The lorries do most of the distance work.

The tractors do agri work and haulage work, so a diverse fleet is what we have to have.
We do alot of civils, agri and drainage work.
What machine do you use for drainage work?

Wouldn’t bother with a 6215 for haulage you’ll get sick of bouncing, reliable enough tho, a 6250 would be much better suited.
The Valtra is a comfy machine with a great engine and the most manoeuvrable of the lot, turn on a sixpence, but jeez the gearboxes are awful.
Can’t fault a puma much, simple and comfy.
Fastrac 4220s are a huge step ahead of the old fastracs, I may have hauled that sort of weight on artics and they go fine but do struggle a bit on the hills but you tend not to mind with how comfy and easy to drive they are.
A 930 will deffo be ontop of the job, different league power wise to anything else on your list, probably the most reliable and will hold their money best.

Depends on what you want out of it I suppose!
