Haunted Land Rover?

Bit of an odd one. I am in my kitchen and hear the Land Rover alarm go off. It's about 3pm, I'm in lockdown, and haven't seen anyone for days. No livestock or people close to the vehicle and nothing I am aware of that could have set it off. A bit strange? I assume I have set off the key fob which is in my pocket, but my Land Rover (2005 Td5 Defender 90) is about 50m down the yard. So I go out and switch it off.

Fast forward to 7.30pm. I am in the kitchen again making a cup of tea. The key fob is on the work surface about 2m from me and I haven't touched it. I hear the alarm going off again. The Land Rover is in the same spot about 50m down the yard. I pick up the fob and open the back door to go out. The alarm stops.

Any suggestions? Or any recommendations for an exorcist? I did a quick search of LR forums and all I can see are posts grumbling how close the fob needs to be to open the doors or modifications how to increase the range.

I don't think it has motion sensors and I hand feed the hens so the rats have died of starvation.

If this happens tonight my neighbours are going to love me! Think I may park it down the field.

I had the alarm go off on mine about 4 o'clock on morning, so just leant out of the door and switched it off.

It was nicked about a week later, you've probably got a mouse though.

The little red tell tail light on the dash was flickering, so I switched the alarm off altogether (I think). No red light now. I never could understand how to program it. Off to do a search to see if I can find out what's going on.

It seems this problem can be caused by corrosion/sticking plungers in micro switches in the doors that switch the interior lights on. Also, there is a battery to the alarm signal thingy which is situated behind the near side head light. Now I'll have to check to see if that's right. More here if anyone else is searching for this problem:

Most likely the interior sensor. A fly or bug moving past it. Above drivers seat on the headlining curve. You can disable it by just key locking it, alarm will still sound if door opened or window smashed.

When I took delivery of my 50th. Anniversary defender. I said wheres the fob.
no fob sir. I said thats not how the demo one was.
however nothing could be done, there was no fob, so no remote etc.
after all I was lucky to get one of these exotic vehicles
6 weeks later parked at a neighbours, the vehicle died. Called LR assist, 2 hours later guy turns up, wheres the fob? I explained no fob . He disabled the facility and I was the lucky owner for 3 years till it was lifted one night :(:(:(

Not helpful in anyway but remember my dad telling me his uncle killed himself in his jag this was a high end motor and his aunt asked him and my uncle to clean it up to sell my dad was dropped to the farm and jumped in the jag all went fine for a few miles until he got to a wood when the car died completely no lights nothing. He told me he s**t himself for what felt like hours for it to randomly restart and drive on fine. On another note I was working on a nice old gentleman’s house cutting back trees to get at render when he informed me he was an exorcist or in his professional term doctor of demonology. Was a fascinating guy and not at all what I expected ie scary ghosts and such
