Major event at Barnsley this weekend. Lots of tv celebs to sign things & shake your hand. An insight into Yorkshire farm life. Rob & Dave, Jules Hudson, Amanda Owen, The Yorkshire vets, stars of All creatures great & small, Paw Patrol, Ben Fogle, Helen Skelton & Peppa pig.

I'm nearly wetting myself & I'm going to climb to the top of my grain silo to watch.

Some local roads are going to be made into one way systems to cope with the traffic. Barnsley has never seen so much excitment.

Dont forget thr one in Gloucestershire, but that is only for the ultra posh 😂

Do you think cotswold Barnsleyers try and pronounce it differently to try and differentiate themselves from Baaaarnsley folk, next door village is Hatfield, Herefordshire and used to be mistaken with Hatfield, Hertfordshire due to a occassional mishap with a old sat nav or a road map.

Princess Anne, went to Cannon Hall Farm today.

The Nickelson's have really put Barnsley on the map.

There is a large stately home, owned by the council. This is naturally called Cannon hall & was paid for because cannon balls if not cannons were produced in the Cawthorne basin with its rich supply of iron ore & coal. This was for the Napolionic war.

The farm where I live was mentioned in the Doomsday book & pre dates the local village. Iron nails were produced here before the industrial revolution & distrubuted by pack horse.
