Did over a 1000 little bales last weekend for friends & neighbours, got to my own did 30 & baler shat itself, so ended up round baling it - easier to handle not as good to sell. Til now on & fingers crossed for decent weather to allow a 2nd cut!

Cut most of it now ..with a very good haymaking forecast well into next week..... and its making fast.

All thats left then will be 20 odd acres which can be wrapped later and the EK3 areas near the river which cant be cut till 1st of july anyway....
happy days.

Well got 70 acres on the ground and thrown about let’s see how it makes. Some conventional and some 4ft rounds How many turns to make good hay in this heat? what the pros and cons of rowing up the night before baling. It Would allow me to bale more the day after. Here’s some pics for today... last one escaped the mower but couldn’t escape the dog poor bunny.

That’s brave how many small bales do u bale a day ?

It depends. If it’s only my son and I, ie we turn and row up before baling and carting only a couple of thousand. If someone else is rowing up and carting then 4-5,000 maximum 6,000. I have a customer who carts his bales in the evening after his work. Because we’ve baled and packed them he can shift 1,000 bales/ hour, one bloke with a tractor and loader loading the trailers in the field, one bloke hauling the trailers back to the yard and the third unloading trailers and stacking in the barn with a telehandler.
