It's a bit early for hay but who knows what next month will bring .
I agree but I have fallen into that trap of trying to make early hay out of ryegrass before - on this field, last year, 29 days and it was rubbish.
We seem to get the coastal humidity here when the wind is where it is, you can dry grass to 75% but not that last 10.

Made some today. If was cut on the 18th, last Monday. Half the normal crop

Its frustrating, but I'm holding off even making my round haylage for the cattle, as the grass is still just about growing.
If i get a hint of rain I'll have it off, just before.
Hay ground...well permanent pasture a way off yet for me and I've only got a couple of Timothy/rye fields starting to look handy, but they've got too much vigour in them at the moment.
