Haylage needs to be £60 a bale to make it pay .

I've got a good team here , the local Dairy farm lads come in as it's there own farm , we have not had more than 3 dry days since June , Timothy needs 5 days here in good weather

261 5fts off 50 acres, proper solid bales! No way you can get your hand in anywhere. They are like drums, you can play a rhythm on them they are so tight! Happy after thinking it would be a really shoddy crop.

Storage space and the fact they will likely have to be stacked outside over winter. Hopefully stop the rain getting too far in

Yes! Cut on Sunday, turned yesterday, baled today. Been warm and windy here. All but the very bottom of the thickest rows were pretty dry by Monday evening.

This was our attack on 80 hay bales last Friday on a fairly sunny day. 20 acres second cut to go.

It’s all been light around here. We’re just mowing, rowing it up and baling it. Sometimes have to put 10 rows into 1. We’ve had hardly any rain since March.

Nearly there. 60acres of little bales done yesterday, second cut. . Just a few bits to tidy up in a few weeks
